High-rise steel buildings are often used as a city landmark . From 1980 till now more than 100 sets high-rise steel buildings has been completed. Total area is about 8,000,000 square meters , the amount of steel is more than 80 million tons.High-rise steel buildings that under construction and newly built in Beijing and Shanghai reached ten sets . Such as: Shanghai Tower ( 632 meters ) , Shanghai World Financial Center ( 101 floors , 492 meters high , the amount of steel are 65,000 tons ) ; Beijing Television Center ( building area is 183,000 square meters , 41 storeys , the height is 227.05m , the amount of steel are 38,000 tons ) ; World Trade Center ( construction area is 540,000 square meters and the height is 330m); CCTV new building ( construction area is 50,000 square meters and the height is 234m, the amount of steel are 128,000 tons ) . There are 200-300 million square meters of high-rise steel building construction each year,the quantity of steel is about 450,000 tons .
